The things I particularly like about Ugerløse Church is there usage of the pews closest to the entrance & tower. They have been removed, and a cafe area created in their place. This area is used for mixing over a cup of coffee after the Sunday morning services. They have also found room for globe with candles. Danes often visit churches on their holidays throughout Europe, and more often than not these are catholic churches, which allow their visitors to light a candle to accompany a prayer. This idea Danes bring back to Denmark, and the result is, that many Danish churches today offer the possibility of lighting a candle in connection with a prayer in the church. Both the globe and the furniture for the cafe area have been designed and made locally in Ugerløse.
I have however mixed feelings about the childrens play area, which have been added after my first visit to Ugerløse Church in 2012. However, I do think the modern temperary alterpicture fits nicely next to the windows. The same goes for the modern art pieces around the cafe area.
